Your short links went dark? The list rebuilds itself from live traffic.
When a link shortener shuts down, the short links, the QR codes and the list of where they pointed disappear with it. What remains is the traffic: every printed QR code and every link you ever sent still calls the same address. InsightHub Links records those hits on your domain and gives you back the list you lost. No export, no backup, no old provider needed.
Why this page exists.
We update these facts, with a date, as soon as anything changes.
pxl.to has not answered since 5 October
Customers on Trustpilot and AppSumo report dead links and QR codes since 5 October 2026 and support requests without reply. app.pxl.to and api.pxl.to return error 503, the custom-domain address cname.pxl.to is unreachable. Whether and when the service returns is open.
We were customers too
Our short domains ran on pxl.to. With the outage we lost the link list including the targets; we recovered twelve links from the Internet Archive, the rest is gone. InsightHub Links grew out of that damage, first for our own domains.
What nobody can rescue
Links on the provider's own domain, such as pxl.to/abc, can only be revived by the provider. What can be rescued are links and QR codes on a domain you own. That is exactly what this page is about.
Rescue first, decide later.
Both paths start the same way: point your domain, record the hits, fill in the targets. The difference is what comes afterwards.
Record and export for 60 days
For everyone whose short-link domain is dead at the old provider. You point the domain at us, we record every hit for 60 days, you fill in the targets and take your list as CSV. No credit card, no commitment.
- Hits on all short links with counters, sorted by frequency
- Fill in a target and the link works again immediately
- Export at any time: short link, target, title, hits
- At the end you decide: stay, or leave with your list
Keep the links, win inquiries
For everyone who wants more than a replacement after the outage. Your links stay online permanently, with your own domain, QR codes and statistics. On top comes what InsightHub is anyway: inquiries and leads in one place, campaigns, automations and an AI assistant for website, chat and phone.
- Links, QR codes and statistics without a time limit
- Links in the same account as inquiries, campaigns and assistant
- From €29 per month net, cancellable monthly
- Which Links features sit in which plan is fixed before launch
Three steps, no software.
Everything happens on your domain. The old provider does not have to do, release or hand over anything.
Point your domain
You point your short-link domain, say l.your-company.com, at InsightHub with a CNAME record instead of at the old provider. One DNS record at your domain registrar, nothing to install.
Once, a few minutesHits are collected
From that moment every hit on a short link arrives at us. Unknown links are recorded with a counter; visitors see a neutral notice page instead of an error. We store the link and the count, no IP addresses.
Runs by itselfFill in the targets
After a few days you see your links sorted by hits: first the ones people still use. You fill in the target and the link works again. Whatever you still have as a list, you import as CSV.
Step by stepWhat you can do now, before anything runs.
Six steps that cost nothing and save work later. They apply to every provider, not only pxl.to.
Do not delete your DNS records
The CNAME of your short domain points at the old provider today. Do not delete it and do not reuse the domain for something else; later you only change the target. Whoever repurposes the domain now loses the chance to record hits.
Inventory everything printed
Which QR codes and short links are on flyers, packaging, business cards, in books, on signs, in email signatures? That list is your priority list: whatever is printed has to work again first.
Ask the Internet Archive
The Wayback Machine (web.archive.org) stored many short links together with their redirect target. Enter your domain with a wildcard, for example web.archive.org/web/*/l.your-company.com/*, and you see what was archived. That is how we recovered twelve of our own links.
Search your own traces
Newsletter tool, social media scheduler, sent mail, Google Analytics and Search Console, ad accounts: your short links are still there in plain text, often with the target next to them. An hour of searching replaces a lot of guessing.
Request an export while you can
If your provider still answers, request an export as CSV with short link, target and title and keep it outside the tool. That holds even if your provider looks healthy. A list that only exists inside a tool is not a list.
Never print a foreign domain again
Short links on the provider's domain are lost for good at the next outage. Your own short domain belongs to you, not to the provider: you switch the service behind it with one DNS record and the printed codes stay valid.
Short links that belong to your system.
The recording is already running. The other features follow step by step; we name dates once they are fixed.
Your own short domain
Links on l.your-company.com instead of on a domain you do not own. Several domains possible, each with its own notice page for unknown links.
A QR code for every link
Every short link has its QR code. Because the code points at your domain, you change the target later without reprinting.
Statistics without IP addresses
Hits per day, country, referring website and device type as totals. No IP addresses, no visitor profiles.
UTM parameters on creation
Set source, medium and campaign when you create the link, so Google Analytics and friends know where the visit came from.
CSV import and export
Import existing lists: short link, target, title. Bring exports from other providers as CSV, and get your own list out the same way at any time.
Part of InsightHub
Links live in the same account as your inquiries, campaigns and automations. InsightHub stays one system, not another tool with its own login.
What the restore can do and what it cannot.
Better a clear answer now than a disappointment later.
This works
- Revive links and QR codes on your own domain
- Count hits before you know the target
- Fill in targets step by step, prioritised by hits
- Import what is left of your old list as CSV
- Later: new links, QR codes and statistics on the same domain
This does not
- Links on the old provider's domain, such as pxl.to/abc: only the provider can revive them.
- Microsites and landing pages of the provider: their content is gone, only a rebuild helps.
- Old statistics: counting starts on the day you switch.
- Links nobody opens any more: they do not show up. Then again, nobody misses them.
In short.
Do I need my old link list?
No. As soon as your domain points at InsightHub you see which short links are still being opened, with a counter. You fill in the target for each one. If you still have parts of the list, import them as CSV, that is faster.
I have pxl.to links without my own domain. Does this help me?
Unfortunately not. Links such as pxl.to/abc run on the provider's domain and only the provider can bring them back. What you can do: republish the targets, replace printed codes, and from now on shorten only on your own domain.
What happens after the 60 days?
You have your list as CSV and you decide: keep using InsightHub Links, or take list and domain to another service. We remind you 14 days before the end and on the last day. Without a decision the redirects keep running for another 30 days; after that your domain shows the notice page. Links do not go dark overnight, and you always know where you stand.
How long until the list is complete?
That depends on how often your links are opened. A QR code on a product reports within days, a link in an old newsletter maybe never. Whatever has not shown up after a few weeks is not missed by anyone. The 60 days are long enough to give rare links a chance.
What is stored about visitors?
The short link, the time of the hit and counters. No IP addresses, no profiles. Statistics show country, referring website and device type as totals. EU hosting; a data processing agreement is available for electronic signature.
Is the recording available yet?
Yes, the recording is already running. Fill in the form and we send you the DNS details for your domain. Every hit is counted from the moment you switch.
What does InsightHub Links cost afterwards?
Prices for InsightHub Links are not fixed yet; registered users learn them before they have to decide anything. InsightHub itself starts at €29 per month net, cancellable monthly.
I am on Bitly, Rebrandly or Short.io. Can I switch?
Yes, with an export: short link, target and title as CSV, import, then switch the domain. The only requirement is that your links run on your own domain; links on bit.ly or rebrand.ly stay with the old provider.
Tell us which domain should live again.
Short form, no commitment. The recording is already running: we get in touch with the instructions for the DNS record. Until then: delete nothing, collect everything printed.
- 1Send the form: your domain and previous provider are enough.
- 2We get in touch with the DNS details for your domain.
- 3Point the domain, collect hits for 60 days, fill in targets, export.
🔒 GDPR-compliant. Hosted in Europe, no IP addresses in the recording.
Links are only the start.
The same account manages inquiries, campaigns and automations, answers questions on your website and takes calls. Links are one building block of it.
